Taps

A well chosen bathroom tap could not just be a useful feature but add a finishing touch to your bathtub, basin, shower enclosure or indeed your entire bathroom that both augments and help complete the style.

We have a wide range of tap styles and types at Entirely Bathrooms. If you’re new to it, choosing the correct tap can be a bit confusing with all the choices available. We have put together a handy guide to help you here.

Consider your water pressure

Your water pressure depends on the type of boiler installed in your property to it’s important that you note this. A gravity fed system is likely to have low water pressure, especially if your bathroom is on a higher floor. A combination boiler (combi boiler) is likely to give you medium to high water pressure. It is important that you choose a tap that is suitable for the minimum water pressure in your house.

The number of Tap Holes (water inlet)

Your basin comes either with one or two pre-drilled tap holes. If your basin has one hole, you require a mixer tap, where both your hot and cold water are mixed in the same spout. If your basin has two pre-drilled tap holes, you require either a pillar tap where there is one inlet for hot water and one for cold water, or a deck mounted mixer tap.

Baths usually do not come with pre-drilled tap holes so in such cases, you can choose any tap you like and the plumber can drill a hole accordingly.

Another option is a wall mounted tap, where there is no need to drill holes on the basin or bath at all.
